“Great sacred architecture is itself an instrument—carved in timber, stone, stained glass, and wind-fed pipes to elevate the human spirit.”
Positioned in the heart of Jacksonville’s historic Riverside neighborhood at 849 Park Street (corner of Park and Post Streets), our sanctuary has stood for generations as one of Northeast Florida’s most treasured acoustic chambers. Its vaulted timber ceiling, warm mahogany woodwork, and reverberant liturgical geometry were purpose-built to carry the rich overtones of the pipe organ, grand pianoforte, and unamplified choral voices.
Recognizing that historic pipe organs and classical concert series require dedicated philanthropic stewardship to survive in the modern era, renowned concert pianist and educator Alan Ragan, alongside Artistic Director Sarah Cotchaleovitch, Patron Coordinator Winifred Taylor, and Counsel Jason C. Taylor, formally incorporated Friends of Music at Riverside, Inc. (Florida Sunbiz Document N23000013792; IRS 501(c)(3) EIN 99-1628768).
Through our signature chamber series, “La Musique des Amis” (The Music of Friends), sacred choral evensongs, and ongoing mechanical and tonal conservation of our sanctuary pipe organ, we ensure that world-class classical artistry remains a living, breathing gift open to every resident and visitor in Jacksonville without admission fees.
